Activity 2: Narrate the Poem

• After reading or listening to the poem, narrate the poem events aloud using your own words.

Activity 4: Act Out the Poem

• Get a coin and play the roles of the old man and the maid.
• As you recite the poem, act out the old man kissing the maid and giving her the coin.

• One day this week, create tracework of coins.
• Gather a few coins of different sizes.
• Place the coins on paper and trace around them.
• Color the circles different colors if you wish.
• Draw one coin that is broken.
